Sono consultabili online nel sito dell’International Institute of Social History tutti documenti dell’archivio di Marx e di Engels. I due fondi erano parte dell’archivio del Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands (SPD), il Partito Socialdemocratico di Germania, che venne acquistato nel 1938 con il supporto finanziario del Centrale Arbeiders- Verzekerings- en Deposito-Bank (the Centrale). A questi due nuclei sono stati aggiunti altri documenti e a fotocopie raccolte dall’Institute of Social History a partire dagli anni sessanta.
